SUPER SONG SUNDAY

This weekend I made my way back to university. On the 4 and a half hour journey we listened to loaaaaaads of songs but this particular one by Etta James was my favourite of the trip. 'Something's Got a Hold On Me' is just an awesome, soulful and powerful song :)

Enjoy :)

LOOK AT THAT // Imogene & Willie

Whilst doing my daily blog reading I came across this video & this brand on Tomboy Style's blog. The jeans they make look absolutely awesome and the whole vibe of the place seems to be pretty cool. I've always been interested in the whole Nashville / country uniform of denim and boots. You can just imagine men and women wearing their denim, working hard and then going to the bar at the end of the day to listen to some rock 'n' roll. The whole idea is just awesome. Imogene and Willie is a relatively small brand with quite a cool story (check out the video below).

The whole family have been pestering dad to take us out to Nashville for age so hopefully he will give in soon and just take us there! This shop looks pretty fab. This is the kind of look I want to decorate my new room in my new house in - country and quite simple. Perfect.

A STRANGER CALLS

... well not a stranger exactly!

On Thursday my friend from university, Laura, came over to West Wales for a few days. These easter holidays have been really long and when I go back next Sunday we will have been away from there for five weeks! So it was nice to see Hollie in London and then Laura last week. Because she arrived late Thursday that's all we did that day was grab a Costa and have dinner.
Friday however we went for a little walk in the morning so I could show her more of where I live. Since Laura lives in quite an urban area it was totally different for her to see fields everywhere along with sheep and almost no cars at all on our walk. After our walk we headed in the car to Penrhiwllan for some lunch at the Daffodil restaurant. We had awesome food - her lasagna & me beer battered cod and chips. Delish. As a second part of the meal we headed to Aberaeron to get some honey ice-cream and to walk by the beach. That evening we ate some of my mam's homemade Chinese.

Saturday I wanted to show Laura more of where I live so we went to Lampeter to grab brunch and then in the afternoon we went down to Llanelli to watch the rugby. I haven't watched a live game of rugby since christmas, so I was looking forward to watch the Scarlets take on the Blues. It was a beautifully sunny day - perfect weather to watch the rugby!

Sunday we watched Pitch Perfect (I love Fat Amy!) and then we took Laura to the train station. I'll be seeing her along with the rest of the block J crew next Sunday when I make my way back to Egham. :)

MOOD BOARD MONDAY //

I decided to make a little mood board from pictures that I enjoy. Be it pictures and quotes that inspire me or pictures that I just love because of the style, freshness and just plain awesomeness. Most of these pictures are from Pinterest and Soul Surfer.

SUPER SUNDAY SONG

This week I've chosen Self - Stay Home. This track just reminds me of the 00's and summer for some reason! Oh, and of course - Shrek! I really like the American 90's/00's rock music - bands like Blink 182, Sum 41 & Bowling For Soup.

Enjoy :)

LOOK AT THAT // Cowboy boots

For the past couple of weeks I've been trying to find a good pair of  ankle cowboy boots. I saw some really awesome ones in Zara whilst in London the other day but they're actually sold out in almost every size online. So instead I found a few on ASOS and some on Office - these were going to be a part of my birthday present. However, just as I was about to press 'Checkout' my mam was like "I have a few pair of ankle cowboy boots you could have a look at". She brought out these cool burgundy leather boots that she bought about twenty years ago. She also brought out some red snakeskin (faux) boots which I declined! These will practically go with anything - jeans both boyfriend and skinny and even with shorts in the summer at a festival or while just chillaxin' about town.

FISH & CHIPS, THE SUN & A CAMERA

A week or so ago myself and three friends - Carwen, Kyle & Sulwen headed to Aberaeron for some fish and chips. We didn't plan it but we arrived just as the sun was setting so once we had gone and bought our chips (I had the classic sausage in batter and chips - every time) we went over to the harbour and watched the sun set over the horizon. While we were there we decided to take some pictures. I love where I live & I love the sea :)

SUPER SUNDAY SONG

I was driving back from Aberystwyth recently because I went to pick up the car from my brother ready for my friend to arrive on Thursday. I drove on the coastal road on the way home and it was (in the words of Stella) shtunnin'. The sun was shinning on the sea and to top it off there was an awesome CD in the car stereo. I haven't driven since Christmas because I've been in uni so I didn't actually know what to expect when I turned the CD on. I think it was one of my mum's Teenage Kicks albums or a 70's mix tape type thing but it was awesome. The first song that came on was Van Morrison's Brown Eyed Girl and then came THE song . . . Cheap Tricks' I Want You To Want Me. I first heard this song when watching 10 Things I hate About You and I was soooooo happy when this song came on that I was literally singing so loud!

This is a clip of Cheap Trick performing on The Old Grey Whistle Test (which I think was awesome and they so should show more repeats of it on TV) in 1979.

So here you go, enjoy :)

HENDRIX & ODETTE'S

Last Sunday Mam and I headed to London on the train, in first class! Yes, first class. Because we were travelling at a super off peak time it was super duper cheap :) It was nice, except for the seats. Now, I do like a leather seat but on a train you just slipped off the chair. Other than that the experience was pretty cool. Once we arrived we walked the short distance to Marble Arch from Paddington as we were staying in the Cumberland hotel. The hotel was probably one of the coolest hotels I have ever stayed in (except for when i stayed in The Luxor in Las Vegas). The reception was like a contemporary art gallery with sculptures, water falls, cool chairs and the most awesome thing of all - a wall dedicated to THE Jimmy Hendrix. :) They also had a Hendrix suite which looked awesome with the whole 70's thing going on. Apparently the Cumberland hotel was the last known location of the musician and also it's the 40th anniversary of the guitar hero's death so that's why they had so much Hendrix going on.

The first day we were there we arrived quite late and just threw all our stuff in to our hotel room and went to grab a bite to eat and a drink in the hotel bar 'Carbon' before tucking ourselves in to bed :)

The next morning we didn't rush and we had a nice long sleep :) We were going to have a super nice lunch so decided on a fruit bowl and latte for breakfast. We were dinning in Primrose Hill so we made our way to the tube . . . however I did get quite distracted by the Topshop that was right next door and ended up spending waaaaaay too much money on a new top, trousers and later on in the day I headed in to the mahoosive Topshop on Oxford street and spent even more money on their make-up (this, this & this)! Anywho, we (eventually) made it to Primrose Hill and to Odette's. We decided to have lunch in this particular restaurant because we had heard that the food is awesome and also because the chef - Bryn Williams - is Welsh and we had watched some of his Cegin Bryn programmes on S4C. Oh my word - the food was aaaaamazing. Seriously. To begin with I had a glass of Prossecco and mam had some wine and then we had our food. wow. Please go there and try the food because it is just an explosion of taste in your mouth. After our meal we walked down through Primrose Hill and Regents Park.

It was a beautiful day - freezing - but sunny :) We then headed to Regent St. 'cause mam needed to pop in to Tommy Hilfiger. So while we were there we had some tea and cake to get some energy and then we made our way to Harrods and to the Dior exhibition which I blogged about here. While we were in the mahoosive shop we came across a £61,000 watch. I mean, who would spent so much on a blinkin' watch?! - Crazy people that's who!

After Harrods it was quite late so we grabbed some food from M&S, a cocktail in one of the bars in the hotel and then went to to our rooms, ate our food and watched The Campaign (Will Farrel) on the ipad.

The next morning I got up quite early as I was meeting Hollie aka Hollie McHollieHollie for a bit of breakfast. We went to Starbucks behind Selfridges and had some frapaccinos and natural yogurt and had a catch up on what's been going over the holidays :) The reason we had to meet early was because I was going to the doctors just before lunch to have a check up on my back (I had an operation on my back about 3 weeks ago) - this was actually the reason for the trip to London. He said everything was great and I can now start to get back to doing exercises like swimming and eventually a bit of bike riding and then slowly but surely I'll be back doing daily proper exercise.

Wwwww . . . we also bought these Marc Jacobs coke bottles from Selfridges' food hall, along with many other very yuuuuumie foods that we ate on the train (normal class) back to West Wales :) I'll be back in London (well, Egham) in about two and a half weeks and I'll be reunited with Hollie and the rest of the Block J crew - yaaaay :) Oh yeah, and there are those other little things that I also need to do - exams!

A quick picture of what I wore :)

LOOK AT THAT // Christian Dior

On Monday I headed into Harrods in Knightsbridge, London and on the fourth floor there was a Christian Dior exhibition. It was stunning. When we walked in they gave us a free glass of champagne and a programme that gave us a bit of the history of Christian Dior his clothes and the exhibition. I've always loved Dior and especially their perfume. The scent that I always wear is 'Miss Dior' and I have been wearing it on and off for years now and in the exhibition there was actually a phone box and when you went in side it it was filled with the Miss Dior scent which was lovely :) There were loads of couture dresses there and some dresses that the Princess of Wales, Elizabeth Taylor and Audrey Hepburn wore. It was a heaven filled with sequins, awesome scent and beautiful shapes. Before I went to the exhibition I actually watched some Dior fashion week shows on youtube and oh my word the clothes were actually incredible - one of my favourite designers by far.

Here are some pictures I took.
