SUPER SONG SUNDAY

I was thinking about what weekly blog column I could introduce to my site. I decided on a weekly music column. Every Sunday I will be posting a song that I'm really enjoying at the moment under the heading 'Super Song Sunday'!

This week I have chosen an artist that I've only just discovered (a couple of hours ago actually!). Although I've only listened to about five of his songs I absolutely love them. The artist is called Ezra Furman. He's written a few awesome songs but I've chosen this specific one because I just think that the tune is great - a real anthem. It sounds like something that I haven't heard for a long time. It's a song from his album 'The Year of No Returning'.

Enjoy :)

P.s I'd like to know what some of your favourite song are. Leave them in the comments if you like :)

SKATEBOARDS, BOOKS & SOCKS

Yes, it's christmas in the Thomas household. This year we had a very relaxed day without much fuss at all (just 5 of us and Hendrix). I woke up about an hour later this year than previous years (8am) had a shower and changed before anyone else had gotten out of bed. To continue with tradition I headed into Owen's room and we opened our stockings. In the stocking we get smaller gifts such as socks, mugs, puzzles and some jewellery. We then took our stockings into our parents' room and showed them what we got from Santa (yes, we are 21 and 18 years old)!

Once everyone was ready we had croissants and bucks fizz for breakfast. With only crumbs left on our plate we ventured in to the living room where Santa leaves the bigger presents. I received gifts including a Radley bag, Henry Holland jumper, Miss Dior perfume and a Great Gatsby poster. The best gift however, was the awesome Penny Skateboard that Santa brought. It's a blue 'Nickel' board with red wheels and white trucks. I have not gone a day without being on the board for at least two hours! Yesterday I went for my first proper outing on the penny (proper - meaning not going back and forth down the hall way!). It was a three mile ride and it was completely awesome. Living in West Wales it's very hard to find a place that is flat and even if flat it's hard to find a place that is properly concreted and not filled with potholes or chippings. So most of the journey was downhill which was scary, fun, scary & exhilarating all at the same time! I love this gift.

One of my other favourite gift was the Blog Inc. book I received which is written by Joy Deangdeelert Cho of Oh Joy! It's a must for any aspiring blogger or for an existing blogger who wants to know how to improve their blog both aesthetically and contextually. I haven't put it down since I opened it Christmas morning. Along with this book I opened many travel books which are just teasing me at the moment until I finish university in three years then they'll (hopefully) be my bible as I travel around the world :)

I hope you had a very merry christmas :)

p.s you might have noticed the new name and design of this blog. I thought it needed a change not only to celebrate almost a year of blogging but also to make it look cleaner and sharp. The name I changed so it'll be easier for people to find. I've lost count at how many times I've had to repeat my old blog name to people as they have no idea what I've just said and then I had to spell it out for them. Hopefully this new look & name will be easier for all of us (: Hope you like it!

VIDEO POST: MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE. LET'S SING!

As we travelled around the village delivering Christmas cards we turned the Christmas music up to 11 and danced. Just normal day-to-day activities! Enjoy our little sing-a-long!

For the last couple of days I've been going around the house taking snapshots of our Christmas.

IT'S (ALMOST) CHRISTMAAAAAAS!

Well, tomorrow is Christmas day! This year has gone by so fast it is unbelievable.
This week has been fairly busy but mostly it's been lying on the sofa watching films! That's how Christmas should be, no?

Last week I went over to see Alaw as I hadn't seen her for ageeeees. One thing led to another and before you know it we were driving around the village dropping Christmas cards off & listening to Christmas songs at volume 80! It was actually hilarious! We ended up just driving to random places for no specific reason. These are the best sort of days - random and fun ones!

(I think this picture of Alaw is one of my favourite pictures ever!)

Friday I woke up to a text from Carwen asking if I wanted to go down to Cardiff to watch the rugby. Scarlets were travelling down to face the Blues in the Christmas derby. Of course I said yes, so at around 3 o'clock we were off down the M4! She had won the tickets through the local radio station. The match wasn't overly exciting itself but we managed to make it fun! The Scarlets won so there was a positive from the game (they haven't won for a looooong time!) It was an extremely fun day and it was nice to actually see Carwen in the flesh after three months of occasional Skype sessions!

Saturday we went to visit the grandparents and almost as soon as we were home we had people over for supper. It was an hilarious night which saw a lot of laughs and empty bottles of wine! Most of us were wearing Christmas hats and we had the Christmas table set out. It got me in that Christmasy mood of having fun and enjoying yourself.

Last night we went to a candle light christmas chapel service that our family friend does every year. My brother and I both had to do readings - him a poem & me a hymn. This also gets everyone in a christmas mood as we sing hymns under candle light and then have mince pies and mulled wines (wwwww... and also get chocolate and tangerines from santa!).

Merry Christmas :)

LIGHTS, CAMERA, JUMP!

Yesterday evening I decided to take my dad's Canon 600D out as I've not been able to use it for the last 3 months as I've been away at university. What was meant to be one picture turned in to a little photoshoot! So here are some of the picture we took!
