ADVENTURES

My friend Hollie who I live with in uni had been going on about how awesome these three films are - The Goonies, Stand By Me & Into the Wild. I am ashamed to say that I had never seen these films . . . until yesterday that is (well, we watched The Goonies & Stand By Me - we still have the third one to watch). They are awesome films and are about exactly what I love - adventure. I am also currently reading On The Road by Jack kerouac which is also all about adventure. I just think that the world is sooooo big that you have to go out, travel and discover new things. You don't have to leave the country and you don't need to be loaded to do it. I find going on walks to be just as exciting as you adventure to new places.

I think that for 80% of the day I just daydream about things that I want to do with my life - travel around the world & especially South America, I want to go to a gazillion music festivals, climb mountains, surf, snowboard, skate and most importantly, I want to enjoy life. I know that I'm going to do stuff that I don't really want to do in life, but why not make the times, where you can do what you want, supper fun! Hopefully in the very near future this is what I'll be doing again - enjoying life.

I powered up by ipod the other day as I wanted it for my train ride into central London - I usually use my ipad for music these days but I didn't really fancy walking about with it through London - and on the ipod I found loads of old photos which I was so happy to see. As I am talking about adventure on this blog I will post photos of when I climbed Snowdon (the tallest mountain in Wales) a couple of years ago. Wales is a perfect place for adventure  - you've got the sea, the mountains and beautiful views!

When we climbed Snowdon we literally couldn't see anything due to the fog - everything in front of us was white! Also, I have never been so cold in my life - I literally sat under the hand-dryer in the centre at the top of the mountain just to warm up. However, as we walked down the weather got significantly better and we could see some of the stunning views that we missed on the way up!

Us at the top! We look a bit damp to say the least!

Awesome :D

CARDIFF - BACK TO THE MOTHERLAND

On Friday morning I headed back to the Motherland! My family were going down to Cardiff for the weekend so I grabbed a train and almost three hours later I was in the capital. The family weren't arriving until later that day so I spent the day with Nicola who is in uni there. I got off the train and in to the main bit of the station and who is the first person I see . . . . Colin Charvis (ex-Wales rugby player!) and of course who was standing right next to him . . . Nicola! Neither of us had been to Cardiff Bay in a while so off we went. I really like the bay, it's a newly regenerated part of the city and it's just a nice chillaxed place with some cool architecture - Millenium Centre & Senedd. Also that is where the BBC Cymru/Wales studios are and the Doctor Who Experience centre.

We grabbed some Nando's (of course!) for lunch and it probably has one of the best Nando's views ever  - looking right over the water. An actor from Casualty was sitting right next to us also (thanks to Nicola for pointing this out!) We had a roam around the bay for a while, had a coffee and then headed back to central. I rushed to the house (where we were staying), changed and was out the door again as we were going out for a meal in a restraunt called Oscars. The food was really good - I had the pate for starters, the awesome duck for main and the panna cotta for pudding. Yuuuuuuum :)

The next day was Six Nations day. Wales were facing Italy in Rome so we headed in to town to watch it in a bar off Westgate Street. Before that though, Dad wanted some new clothes so we walked around Howells for ageeeeeees but at least I got to go to the bike shop that they have there! I wanted to pop in to the Vans shop just to have a look. They had the awesome bags that I want which have straps in the front where you can pop your board in - that would be so handy. They also had some cool longboards! I saw a pair of shoes that I liked and my daddy bought them for me ;) Yaaaay :)

We won the rugby match! Wooohooo! It was so cold in Cardiff that we decided to head home after the match so we caught the bus back. Mam & Owen went back in to Central because they were going to watch 'Australian Pink Floyd'. Me and my dad however stayed at home and watched some Saturday night TV!

I headed home Sunday afternoon after a scrumptious brunch in Brava (which is in Pontcanna). Chorizo, Scrambled egg & pepper burrito - what more do you need?! :)

I love Cardiff.

I thought this wall memorial was serious but when we got closer we could see that it was for a fictional character called Ianto from the Torchwood series! There are some crazy people out there!
 Millenium Centre
Cowbridge Lemonade cocktail from Oscars. - Delish.
Watching the rugby - which screen should we watch!?

YUUUUM YUUUUM YUUUM = awesome :)

LIKE A ROLLING STONE

It has been such a nice & sunny couple of days in ROHO. The weekend was especially sunny and I was trapped inside for most of it as I have sooooo much work to do! However I decided that I needed a break and to go outside so off we went! We actually went to discover the quickest route to get to our new houses (for next year) from the university. We took some skateboards and I made a little film of our short adventure! It's really funny that two groups from our block have ended up living right next door to each other - without planning it or anything! Hopefully this year will improve and with Nicola and I having just bought READING 2013 FESTIVAL TICKETS I think it just might! Biffy Clyro & Eminem have already been announced as headliners and we're still waiting for them to announce the last headliner - should be epic! Cannot wait!

SUPER SUNDAY SONG

This week I've chosen a song from one of the most awesomest people in the world - Beyonce Knowles. I have literally just finished watching her new documentary - wow! She's just such a strong person.

I don't think I need to explain why I chose B. She is just awesome.

POSITIVE THINKING

Last Wednesday I went in to a hospital in London for the day. The reason for this was that I was being put under anaesthetic in order for them to inject on both sides of my lower back in order to attempt to get rid of the pain in my leg. The hospital was by Chelsea bridge so we had to leave quite early. They didn't take me down to theatre in till around 3:00pm and I was back about an hour after. They brought me in some food which, for hospital food, was delish! My mum and I watched Ted on the TV. Once the nurse said we could go we left, even though I could hardly feel my left foot - I just wanted to go home! We ate food from M&S in my uni room in the evening, my mum had some prawn thing and I had some fruit. I put the film 'Bucket List' on the tv and then we fell asleep.

I hope and pray that it's going to work. It's getting increasingly hard to get on with my life. It's even harder on days such as the one I'm writing to you on where the sun is shining and where, If my leg was good, I'd be outside exercising or just having fun. But I can't. Arghhhhhh!!! Being a person that did sport every single day of the week to now doing nothing, the only way I can describe it to you is it's like being trapped inside your own body. You want to do stuff but you can't. But hey, there are much worse things in the world. Positivity guys.

Hope you have a fantastic Friday.
Gwenwch mae'n ddydd Gwener :)

Don't I just look so awesome . . . . .!

This is me playing my first ever game for the Scarlets about nearly four years ago (V RGC Under 18s).

This is after we beat the Ospreys away in Llandarcy last season (I think!)

This are just photos that I love and make me happy!

SUPER SONG SUNDAY

Today I have chosen a song from a band that I recently discovered while I was roaming around different blogs on the web. The band is called Bleached & their sound remind me of Blondie or/and a 90's female rock band. I like it, I like it a lot! It's refreshing to see women performing this sort of music in a female world dominated by pop & short shorts. I've chosen the song 'Searching through the past'. I also really love the video!

MILKSHAKE MADNESS

I woke up super early Monday again as I needed to watch a rugby match & write an article about it(check it out here). Once that was finished I went to my 12pm lecture on Russian propaganda (or at least I think that's what it was about - wasn't quite sure!) To cheer us up after an hour of discussing massacres, revolutions and violence I went over to a friends flat as she was making us some homemade delicious milkshakes. Back home she works in a sweet shop so she had sooooo much sweets and chocolate! She uses this enormous collection of chocolate to make awesome milkshakes. We had the privilege of tasting a new original recipe - chocolate stars, toffee crisp and Ben & Jerry's milkshake. Oh my word it was delish! There was also a maaaasive tub of sweets on the table - we had one or two of these as well! Yuuuuuuumie!

SKATEBOARDING SUNDAYS

Because of my injury I have not been able to do any sport (except for Pilates) for almost a year. Which is actually the worst. I know there are worse things in the world but for me sport is a way to relax, de-stress and have fun. So let's just say the last couple of months have not been the best. However, one thing I do do often now is skateboard. I am in pain after it but I would be doing anything else also so why not do something fun and enjoy it. I've only had my skateboard since Christmas and I'm not very good at it at all (although I am improving). I love riding it and I also love watching skateboarding videos on youtube. I could literally spend hours scrolling through many a video. I especially enjoy longboarding. It's just like your surfing but on concrete - amazing!

Throughout the week if I need to go in to town I skate the two mile round trip. I also do this even if I don't need anything from town - just for some fresh air. Sunday morning is my favourite skating time though. I get up early, this week it was 6:50am, and just go skateboarding for an hour or so. I do the usual skate to town and this week I came back a different way which had two downhill sections. It was awesome. I then began to adventure around town trying to find new hills I could skate down.

I came home, had a shower, had breakfast and did some work all before 10am. It's a very good way to start a Sunday :)

This is the rubbish that was on the street Sunday morning - wow.

(a late) SUPER SONG SUNDAY

This week T-Rex has made it on to my Super Song Sunday with the song 'Children of the Revolution'. My favorite lyrics of all time are in this song - "I drive a Rolls Royce 'cause it's good for my voice'.

Enjoy :)
